- Otto Tischendorf was born July 2, 1867 in Germany and came to this country about 65 years ago. He worked about this community for several years and about a half a century ago located on a farm in the Town of Holton which was his home until recently. He was married in Germany to Agnes Taylor who died in 1918. Several years later he remarried with her sister, Mrs. Emma Hoffman, who died in 1947. he and his son Frank continued to live on the farm now owned by the latter and operated by Donald Tischendorf, until a couple years ago when they moved to the place on the Dorchester Corner.
Survivors include three sons Edward, Fred, and Frank all of this community; five daughters Mrs. Harold (Ida) Goodwin, Lamita, California; Mrs. Delmar (Frieda) Bell, Underwood, Iowa; Mrs. Molly Dauer, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. James (Louise) Crandall, Cadott; twenty one grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A stepson Albert Hoffman, Abbotsford, also survives. And a son Carl died in service during World War I.
