The Schnepel family probably is linked at the start of the record to a Conrad Blaecke or Bleeke who came from Ilvese near Heimsen and was buried February 12, 1672, at the age of 60. The Schnepel name originally appears as Schnepel oder Blaecke,
and then is shortened to Schnepel. We do not know the origin of the Schnepel name. In the second generation this family married into the Detmar family of Pollhagen in Schaumburg. The Schnepel name continued without a break in the male lineage
to the 19th century. Christoph Hinrich Schrimpe was born in the church district of Buchholz on October 26, 1653, and came to Doehren when he married Margrete Busching in 1682. Only daughters were born in the second generation, and the name
Schrimpe went forward through the Schrimpe oder Kronemann line from this point. This family has early ties through maternal lines to Wiedensahl, Niedersachsen, and to Nendorf in the Kingdom of Hanover.
