Memorial service for M. Droog, age 84, Meadow Lake Drive, Edgewater, who died on Monday, February 18th at home, will be 3:00 p.m. today, Thursday, February 21st at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with Pastor Paul Kammer, Light of Calvary Church, Edgewater, officiating.
Born in Ter Aar, Netherlands, Mrs. Droog, a bookkeeper, came to this area in 1992 from Mt. Holly, Virginia. She came to the United States on April 14, 1953 from the Netherlands and lived in the Washington D.C. Suburbs until 1982 when she moved to Mt. Holly. Mrs. Droog was a bookkeeper for Skelterama go-cart track, Droogs Enterprise and many rental properties. She was a history buff and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, needlepoint and sewing.
Mrs. Droog is survived by 2 sons, Pieter Droog and his wife Ellen of Reno, NV, Conrad Droog and Karen Kyger of Edgewater, 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Droog and his wife Megan of Great Lakes, MI, Nicole Droog of Bethesda, MD, R.C. Droog of Netherlands, 2 step-grandsons, David Bier of Sacramento, CA, Matthew Bier of Camp Pendelton, CA, 1 step-great granddaughter, Skyla Bier of Sacramento, CA and 34 Nieces and Nephews in the Netherlands.
